Reel-to-Reel
This
audio recording was transferred
from a 3" reel. Originally
recorded in 1968 on a consumer
reel-to-reel recorder. There
where many clicks, pops and
noises that where removed as
well as some minor noise reduction
to reduce tape hiss.
Acetate
Here
are before and after samples
taken from a double-sided acetate.
There was a lot of distortion,
which had to be removed from
this recording as well as some
equalization. A future vinyl
release is planned for the
group The Peabody Company.
Wire
Recording
This is an excerpt
of a radio broadcast believed
to be broadcast circa 1953.
It was recorded on a wire reel
recorder. We do not know
the exact origin of this recording,
but it seems to be an air check
from WGM Chicago. Wire
reel recordings generally reproduce
very well considering their
limitations of frequency response
and dynamic range
Minimal
noise reduction and equalization
was required for this recording.
Depending on the quality of
your speakers, you may not
hear a significant difference
over the web.
